The Armada Pro881™ is an easy-to-use digital wire and valve locator built for fast, accurate underground locating. It is designed to trace many types of buried cabling, including irrigation, CATV, electrical, telephone, and lighting lines. The Pro881 uses digital signal filtering to help reject unwanted AC noise and interference, making it easier to complete locates with fewer complicated settings.

This locator is especially useful for customers trying to find lost irrigation valves, trace wire paths, locate broken or severely damaged wires, or identify buried cable routes before digging. The complete Pro881 kit includes the receiving wand, transmitter, carrying case, leads, ground stake, stereo headset, and operating manual.

Locating Capabilities

The Pro881 can be used for several common troubleshooting and locating jobs:

  • Tracing buried irrigation wires

  • Locating lost irrigation valves and solenoids

  • Finding broken or severely damaged wires

  • Following underground cable paths

  • Locating lighting, telephone, CATV, and similar metallic conductors

  • Using direct connection, inductive clamp, or broadcast locating methods

Inductive Clamp Advantage

The included inductive clamp allows the locator to place a tracing signal onto energized or de-energized cabling without direct metal-to-metal connection. This can be helpful when the wire is difficult to access, when direct connection is not practical, or when tracing certain cables without disconnecting them.

Simple Operation

The Pro881 is designed with a straightforward transmitter and receiver layout. It offers three transmission frequencies and selectable locating modes to help match the job conditions. The receiver provides both audible feedback and LED signal strength indication, allowing the user to follow the signal path and identify changes in signal strength.

Ideal For

  • Irrigation contractors

  • Landscapers

  • Property maintenance teams

  • Electricians working with low-voltage or buried conductors

  • Homeowners troubleshooting irrigation or buried wire issues

  • Customers preparing to dig near known or suspected buried wiring

Important Use Notes

This equipment is a locating aid and requires proper setup, grounding, and operating technique. Soil conditions, wire condition, cable depth, grounding quality, and nearby interference can all affect locating results. For best performance, customers should read the operating instructions before use and allow time for proper setup and testing.

One-on-one familiarization can also be provided at pickup or delivery if scheduled in advance.
